Professionally maintained grass!
The main runway is well maintained turf, approximately 40' wide and 600' long, oriented east/west, with the flight line (pits) north of the runway.
No flying north of the flight line (over spectators, buildings, pits)
There is also a fabric runway available for micro (UMX) class aircraft measuring 13' wide and 107' long.

Dedicated to a founding member
Hank Flaggs was a founding member who worked as an employee on the grounds of the Springfield Hospital Center Complex. He secured an agreement with the State of Maryland Department of Health, which procured our flying site.
